Program Notes

Movement 1:  Happiness

To me, living in Vancouver often makes me feel energetic and excited. It is because this city provides me opportunities that I have never thought of having. That is why whenever I think about Vancouver, I feel the happiness in my mind. With this in mind, I wrote this movement 1 to share this happiness and energetic feeling to whoever listening to this music.

Movement 2:  Betrayal

Even though living in Vancouver provides opportunities, there are always ups and downs. Occasionally, some events may make me upset or even angry. In this movement, I am sharing a scenario of two good friends who end up becoming strangers.

It divides into 3 sections:

The first section is an event occurs and she feels betrayed by her good friend. She sarcastically argues with him while he is trying to calm her down.

In the second section, the scene goes back to the beginning of the friendship where they first know each other and have fun together.

In the third section, the scene moves back to present, and they continue the argument. In the end, they say goodbye to each other and go separate ways.

Movement 3: Interestedness

There are lots of interesting things going on in Vancouver:  Some are funny; some are weird; some are energetic, and some are ordinary.

In this movement, I am sharing different feelings about doing these interesting things in Vancouver.
