Be Youthful

I started to write this first piano quartet piece on December 5, 2021.
The work-in-progress score of "Be Youthful" was done on December 25, 2021 and was reviewed by Steven Azami, music producer from MisterEvenSteven Music Production. It was selected for Radio Airplay's blog on January 27, 2022.
The first completion of the score was done on December 27, 2021. It was sent to International Composers Festival and got shortlisted. This version was not officially released nor published.
The final revision and completion of the score was done on April 7, 2022 and will be officially released and published on July 22, 2022.
Program Notes
For the past 2 years, the pandemic has affected all of us. Watching the updates about the pandemic often makes me feel melancholy. In December 2021, as I went through my photos, I looked back my life. That’s when I started to realize that I’ve faced many ups and downs, many obstacles and problems, and many good and bad people. Even so, after all these years, I still believe in what I had believed in when I was young. And they are:
- No matter how difficult life is, there’s always hope for tomorrow.
- No matter how bad the situation is, things will get better in the future if we work hard enough.
- God is with us, and He doesn’t abandon us.
- We put our trust in Him and He will reward us.
- When the time is right, God will come again.
- And that’s when God’s judgement arrives.
- Good ones will be rewarded.
- Bad ones will be punished except those who truly repent and be faithful in Christ.
- By then, we will all know God is fair.
Although I don’t know when this pandemic will end, but there’s always hope that it will soon go away, and things will be better. Each day, sun goes up and then goes down; darkness comes and then be replaced by sunrise again. So, I decided to write a new music piece to make myself feeling energetic again and to remind myself to keep a youthful mind as before, knowing darkness will be leaving soon.
Here I’m presenting “Be Youthful” in the hope that whoever listen to this piece will feel energetic and be optimistic about the future.
